Family Catechesis Online Learning

Family Catechesis (Fam Cat) online learning is designed for families who are unable to attend in-person sessions on Sunday mornings.  Below you will find the format and schedule for online learning for the 2024-2025 catechetical year. 

• Watch the monthly online video(es), which will be emailed to you on the 1st of each month.
• Complete the activities with their child(ren) using the Parent’s Guide and their child(ren)’s Activity Book and submit your completion dates.
• Engage in a monthly conversation with their Formation Companion.  A Formation Companion is someone you choose to accompany you on this journey through Family Catechesis, a friend who can be a sounding board.  Your Formation Companion should be someone who is available and supportive and with whom you can share your thoughts candidly.  This could be a spouse, neighbor, co-worker, fellow parishioner, prayer partner, and so on. 

• For families who choose online learning, a minimum of one parent/guardian is required to participate. Depending on your family situation, one or both parents may want to participate.  Both parents are certainly welcome and encouraged to do so!
• Families may not switch back and forth from in-person Family Catechesis to online Family Catechesis.
• There are no Zoom meetings or Franciscan At Home workshops.
• Online learning families are not required to submit Interactive Chapter Review results, just a monthly activities completion form (see schedule below).
• You may obtain your child(ren)’s Activity Book and a Parent’s Guide at the AGP Administrative Office (5718 Steubenville Pike, McKees Rocks 15136), Monday through Thursday between 8:30 AM and 4:30 PM.  Books will be available beginning Tuesday, October 1.

• OCTOBER 2024: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the October section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
• NOVEMBER 2024: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the November section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
• DECEMBER 2024: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the December section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
• JANUARY 2025: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the January section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
• FEBRUARY 2025: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the February section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
• MARCH 2025: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the March section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
• APRIL 2025: Watch the video, read the essays in the back of the Parent's Guide, and then use the Parent's Guide to do the activities in the April section of the Activity Book.  Submit your completion dates here.
